the exterior
The exterior of the rectangular volumes is clad entirely in coarse wood slats, reminiscent of nearby weathering tree snags. This cladding spans over windows and walls, maintaining a consistent texture on the exterior. The masses, carved and chamfered, reinforce their connection to the materiality of nearby basalt and obsidian, resulting in a monolithic and faceted appearance.

The dining room, positioned above the kitchen, is housed in a volume perched on the platform.
