Sienna Shiga

AIA

Associate Principal | Architect

Sienna’s interest in the built environment spans many project types and scales. With a focus on complex higher education projects, Sienna brings program insights and thoughtfulness to every design problem. She finds inspiration in cultivating a collaborative environment where everyone is seen and heard, and she aspires to design with sustainable, honest, and authentic materials for the building’s surroundings and inhabitants.

Since joining Hacker in 2021, Sienna has contributed to projects requiring extensive community engagement, such as Skagit Valley College Culinary Arts and Library Commons, a new gateway to the campus and campus hub, leading and incorporating extensive student and project stakeholder input.

Sienna’s ability to listen and foster community makes her a valuable addition to culturally sensitive projects, and her recent work on the Center for the High Desert Museum Expansion, in partnership with Plateau Tribes, includes a reimagined exhibit that seeks to forge connections between visitors and contemporary indigenous cultures, supporting the High Desert Museum’s mission to inspire and responsibly educate.
