Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Sherwood Civic Building

This building will be the anchor in Old Town. This is a major transition between the old and the new.

Sherwood Civic Building

Sherwood, Oregon
30,000 SF
Completed 2006

Client Notes
The Civic Building is the City of Sherwood’s “revitalization jewel” – first of several urban renewal projects planned for the historic Old Town neighborhood. A catalyst for growth and new development, this mixed-use building is active, welcoming to the public, and establishes a sense of place for downtown.

Designer Notes
Sherwood Civic Building is a contemporary building that combines two public institutions in a historic downtown district. An interior street running through the building creates a thoroughfare for the public between the pavilion-like Library and the two-story City Hall, connecting to an outdoor plaza. Natural materials and ample daylight create bright, voluminous spaces that draw the community together.
