Create an on-campus student townhouse complex that is focused on community, provides all the amenities of home, and helps junior and senior year students transition from the dorms to autonomous living. Emphasize accessibility, energy efficiency, daylight access for each unit.
Designer Notes
Whitman College’s student townhomes evoke feeling of home and neighborhood in an on-campus student residential complex. Front porches with bike parking engage an active pedestrian street and backyards provide small outdoor gathering space for each unit. The light-filled, two story townhouse-style apartment units include two bedrooms, a living room, and full kitchens with full-size appliances, and the complex shares amenities including a fire pit, laundry room, and picnic areas.
