The Oregon Coast Advanced Technology & Trades (OCATT) Center will expand opportunities for education and workforce development on the Oregon Coast. Designed as a 26,000-square-foot hub for hands-on learning, the facility will provide flexible, real-world training environments for programs in construction and carpentry, industrial facilities maintenance, maritime technology, HVAC systems, and welding, as well as pre-apprenticeship offerings.
Reflecting the Oregon Coast’s landscape and industrial heritage, the building’s form and material palette merge natural and technical expressions. The mass timber structure—including an Acoustic DLT roof system—provides both warmth and acoustic performance, while the exterior is clad in custom metallic green panels designed to withstand coastal conditions and blend with the surrounding forest. Interior spaces are designed for comfort and connection, featuring a commons, kitchenette, showers, lockers, and a meeting room for student–employer engagement.
Situated on a stabilized sandstone site within an ancient dune formation, the building is engineered for long-term resilience. Scheduled to begin construction in 2026 and open for classes in 2027, the OCATT Center will serve as a lasting investment in the region’s educational and economic vitality—preparing a new generation of trades and technology professionals to learn, work, and thrive on the Oregon Coast.
